Atlantic Medical Imaging, First Outpatient Radiology Center in New Jersey to Install Revolutionary CT Technology: Provides High Quality Images with 50% less Radiation

Atlantic Medical Imaging (AMI) announced today the installation of the revolutionary ASiR™
technology. The ASiR™ technology is the most advanced CT technology on the market today which allows radiologists to immediately lower radiation by 50% for CT examinations in patients of all ages. Lowering patient radiation is important to all patients, especially pediatrics, women, and patients getting a follow up CT scan.

The CT scan (short for computed tomography) is one of the greatest advancements in modern medicine, enabling radiologists to see inside the human body to diagnose disease without invasive tests or surgery. The use of CT scans has increased over the last 20 years, which reinforces the importance of the new, low-dose CT
scans provided by AMI.

“This new technology is going to help us improve patient care in a couple of key areas”, states Dr. David Dowe, Medical Director at AMI-Galloway. “First, our GE 64 slice CT scanners deliver the high quality images that will enhance our ability to accurately diagnose disease and detect life-threatening illnesses and second, it will do this while making the exams better for patients by lowering the radiation. The ability to do these two things at the same time is remarkable,” states Dr. Dowe.

AMI is the first outpatient radiology practice in New Jersey to provide this revolutionary CT scan to patients. There are only 29 organizations in the with this technology. Notably, others include the Mayo Clinic and The Mount Sinai Medical Center.

AMI has launched an awareness campaign to inform doctors and patients that this new technology is now available.
