Dr. Hiren Patel, Medical Director for Atlantic Medical Imaging (AMI), has been honored by the non-profit organization A Time For ME. Dr. Patel was recognized for his and AMI’s commitment to women with cancer by providing free screening mammograms to uninsured women in Monmouth and Ocean counties.
Dr. Patel was honored at the organization’s 20th Anniversary Gala on August 7 at Addison Park in Aberdeen, NJ. The Mission of A Time For ME is to provide an all-expense paid respite for women from Monmouth & Ocean counties, who are dealing with the trauma of cancer, where they can regroup their energies and focus on a positive tomorrow. To date, A Time for ME has helped more than 1,100 women with cancer.
“Dr. Patel and his colleagues at AMI have been tremendously supportive of our efforts and have helped enable us to make a profound difference in the lives of women dealing with cancer,” said Patty O’Neill, Executive Director of A Time For ME. “We are proud to acknowledge his efforts are deeply appreciative of his valuable support.”
AMI has been offering free mammograms to uninsured women since 2002 during the month of October to coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness Month. These screenings are provided at all nine AMI offices, including their Women’s Imaging Center in Brick and the Manasquan location. The service is made possible through funding provided by the AMI Foundation.
