Dr. David Kenny of Atlantic Medical Imaging (AMI) has been named as a finalist in the 2013 NJBIZ Healthcare Heroes awards program. Dr. Kenny was named in the Physician of the Year category for his work on AMI’s nationally recognized Low Dose CT Lung Cancer Screening program.
“We are very proud to have earned this prestigious recognition,” said Dr. Robert M. Glassberg, president and CEO of AMI. “Dr. Kenny -- along with colleague Dr. David Levi and their multidisciplinary team – have established and implemented an important free lung cancer screening program that is having a profound effect on the health status of our community.”
In 2012, AMI was recognized by the Lung Cancer Alliance for meeting its National Framework for Lung Screening Excellence by offering life saving screenings for those at risk for lung cancer…becoming one of the select few outpatient imaging centers in the United States to earn that distinction.
The Healthcare Heroes awards program honors individuals and organizations making a significant impact on the quality of healthcare in New Jersey. Finalists were selected in 11 categories: Corporate Achievement, Education Hero-Individual, Education Hero-Organization, Hospital of the Year, Innovation Hero-Individual, Innovation Hero-Organization, Nurse of the Year, Nursing Home/Assisted Living Facility, Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Center, Physician of the Year and Volunteer of the Year.
Finalists and winners were chosen by an independent panel of judges and were recognized during an awards ceremony on June 18, 2013, at the Palace in Somerset Park in Somerset, New Jersey.
