What is the AMI Foundation

For more than 50 years, Atlantic Medical Imaging (AMI) has been committed to providing hope and help to those who need it the most in our community—through lifesaving, free medical screenings, generous financial donations to worthy non-profits, volunteerism, and important educational opportunities. AMI doesn’t just strive to be a good corporate citizen; they are committed to making a meaningful difference in peoples’ lives.

AMI continuously promotes giving and volunteerism throughout all its office locations in Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, Ocean, and Monmouth counties, effectively engaging its 650 employees, as well as patients and office visitors.

AMI created The AMI Foundation in 2003 to coordinate its philanthropic endeavors. The AMI Foundation is a 501c3 charitable organization that is dedicated to enhancing the level of healthcare for community residents by collaborating with local community groups to support programs that address critical health needs. Since its inception in 2003, the Foundation has provided over $1,000,000 to various charitable organizations throughout South Jersey and Central Jersey.

The AMI Foundation's mission is to identify and develop opportunities to enhance the quality of life and improve the level of healthcare for community residents through education and programs directed at these goals, as well as through financial support of other charitable organizations with compatible missions.

Over the years, the Foundation has supported various local organizations including the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, Gilda’s Club South Jersey, Make A Wish Foundation, South Jersey Cancer Fund, and others.

A few of the notable achievements of the AMI Foundation include:

  • Provided free screening mammography exam to uninsured women 40 and older. The screenings are provided in all AMI offices and on the Dr. Jan Astin Mobile Mammography Van which travels throughout southeastern New Jersey to make breast cancer screening easier and more convenient for women.
  • Provided free Coronary CTA exams through the William Reilly Coronary CTA fund. The coronary CTA exam is for patients at risk for coronary artery disease.
  • Provided free low-dose CT lung screening exams for patients at risk for lung cancer.
  • Provided 2,450 backpacks to area elementary schools for students in need.
  • Donated 4,500 pounds of food to the local community food banks.
